First Day of Kindergarten

Today was Jacob's first day of Kindergarten at Dallas Christian School. I have been excited about Jacob starting school for him- he loves to go to school and be with friends. I have also been dreading this day for a while- he will be in school longer than he is with me at home :( I can tell he has been ready for Kindergarten for a while, since he gets bored with just mom at home! It was an early morning for Jacob, but as always he got up in a good mood and ready to go. Here are a few pictures of him in his uniform. So cute!

This morning when we dropped him off he did great! He was so excited on the way to DC and kept asking how much farther it was. When we got to his room his teacher, Mrs. Rudd, gave him a big hug and welcomed him. That was so sweet and comforting!! He also has a friend in his class, Ryan, that is on his soccer team. Ryan was a big help this morning-he welcomed Jacob and showed him where to put his backpack. I am so glad they are in the same class! I was surprised that I did not cry when we left him at school. I thought I was going to be a big crybaby! I did choke up when I told him bye, I loved him, and we would be back to pick him up. Scott did well too, I wasn't so worried about him. He was very excited for Jacob, I am just too sentimental!

My little boy looks so grown up!!

Great Friends and Great Times

This week we were blessed to see some great friends of ours. Ricky, Cindy, and Cooper Pruitt came into town for dinner on Monday night. We had a wonderful time catching up and having some fun!! When we get together with them, it is like no time has gone by. Here is a pic of the kiddos having some fun with baby Cooper.
Then on Friday the Nortons came into town and it just happens to be Kinzie's 6th birthday! It was a blast!!! We first went to Pizza Planet for lunch.

Then on to Build a Bear Workshop to make some stuffed animals. Jacob decided to make a lab named Luke (he is on a HUGE starwars kick), Kinzie made a cat named Rockstar, and Jackson made a fishing bear named Jack.

Kinzie went to Libby Lu to check out the totally girly store that it is!! She got a little makeover while she was there. Jacob wanted to sit this one out, he wasn't too excited about getting glitter in his hair!!
Finally we all went to Red Robin for a burger and fries. All the waiters and waitresses came and sang to Kinzie and she got a sundae. I thought it was the cutest thing ever when she fed Jacob the cherry from her sundae!
Here is the crew (minus Blaze and Ella due to naps!)!!!
Thanks for coming to see us Pruitts and Nortons!! We love you all dearly and miss you terribly!

A new addition to the Family

Yes-we have two new additions to the Hoelzle Family! Luke and Yoda, our two new fish. Luke is a black molly fish and Yoda is a dalmation molly fish. The pet store didn't have any green fish. Jacob is very excited about his two new friends and love to feed them (all the time!). He asked me "How do you hug a fish?" I said you can't really hug a fish but maybe they will see him through the glass. We will see if our two new friends survive. Luke eats all the food before Yoda can get to it. Yoda would be the slow one!

Saturday night we went to the Barnum and Bailey Circus at the AAC. It was a great circus this year with some great trapeeze artists, high wire acts, dog shows (Ella's pick), tigers, horses and elephants. Ella wasn't so sure about the circus when it first started with all the loud music and weird looking people (it is a circus!). But she soon started dancing with the dancers and waving to all of the circus folk. Jacob of course had a great time and was on a sugar high after his snow cone and cotton candy.

The tooth fairy cometh!

Hey! I know- haven't posted in a few (well, lots!) of weeks! But, wanted to share Jacob's latest happenings with you. He lost his first tooth! What a big boy!

The tooth fairy visited our house and Jacob was excited to find three dollars under his pillow. I guess inflation has hit the tooth fairy, too!

Jacob was very curious about the tooth fairy. He wanted to know how tall she was, if her voice was high or low, did she walk or did she fly, was it a girl or a boy, and on and on.

We have been very busy this summer with indoor soccer, swimming lessons, soccer camp, play dates, and various other trips. Here are some picutures from this summer so far!

Ella is ONE!!!!

Last Saturday our baby Ella turned one years old! This first year has really flown by for me-I guess since I have been extra busy with two. Ella has developed such a cute personality over the past month or so. She has made us laugh over this past year and I know she will make us all laugh so much more in the future. She is my little beauty!

First we had a birthday lunch. Notice the cheesy smile she always gives when she sees someone taking her picture! She loved all of her presents, especially the ribbons and bows off of the packages.

Ella's birthday cake- yes I did all of the star tips on the top myself. My right hand is still feeling the effects of that!
The birthday princess on her throne.

Ella really dove into her cake at first. That's my girl!!

Then she realized that cake and icing are really sticky on your hands. She did not like that!

Thanks to all who could come to Ella's birthday party, it was a blast! We love our little princess and our lives are so much more precious and full because of her. Love-Mommy, Daddy and Bubba (Jacob)
